Hi there,

I'm back on track with doomtown, yay! And I spent the last few days trying to figure out any wothwhile idea to use for a Rachel's gang deck, no success so far... Has anyone here ever played this outfit without just wanting the original BJ home instead? Any ideas and/or decklists will be highly apreciated!

Well, I think with Rachel's Gang, you would probably be looking to do a Shooter style deck. Low value scheme, a-5, 2-6, and fish for your jobs. You could make a hyper agressive deck out of it, and fish for the Massacre on second turn if you so chose to. Basically, you would spend your first turn setting up, and then second turn, make sure that you have 7 ghost rock so that you can Massacre as your second action on the turn.

Is it any good? I don't know.... Outside of Collegium, the only things that I have ever put a lot of work into was a Maze Rats (fear the Fu) and Coalition.

I'm currently cruising through the people and what not that you could have in a deck like that and seeing if there is a way to field a fast shooter. I will let you know what I come up with.

hmm... sounds a lot similar to a sioux brawler that trades some speed for a more consistent buildup.... there could be something to it...

By the way: the maze rats you're talking about, is it by chance a kung-fu deck? If yes, would you mind posting a list. I built a kung-fu bicycle deck myself, but I'm not that terribly happy with the results...

Oh, there's not much build up to a second turn massacre. You might run stoker's and use one first turn if you get it, but it's really pretty fast.

Another option would be to run a Rock denial deck.

I will try and piece the deck back together and post a deck list. I played it the last year I went to origins, and it faired pretty poorly and was deconstructed. I will get a decklist together though, and post it.

Actually I love the whole shooter idea as a parallel to the sioux version, which I can't run effectively due to a certain lack of throw downs...

When you concentrate the deck around the "tutorable" massacre you can save a lot of space the indians use for call-outs and card cycling while keeping a similar small, fast dude package, maybe even adding some dead man's hand possibilities...

Ok, now I got carried away.... anyways: when I find the time I'll try to post some more certain ideas... but if you come up with something (or something entirely different) I'd love to read it.
