"Tabitha"

May only enter play if the fear level is greater than 5.

Note that I'm using DUO rules, in which the fear level starts at 4.

On the Crow's Nest, an accumulated ruling states that The Agency: Union Blue may start with harrowed dudes, despite the rule that "This player may not bring harrowed dudes into play".

So my question about Tabitha is: Can a whateley player start with her in play? There is a difference in wording between "Bring into play" and "enter play", but it seems to me that the rules would be equivalent. That is, if a union blue player can start with harrowed dudes despite not being able to bring them into play, a whateley player can start with "tabitha" despite her not being able to enter play when the fear level is not greater than 5.

Is this true?

Thanks!

Honestly I can only guess on this... but based on all the fun wording rules I've dealt with in other CCGs, if she was in your starting posse, she wouldn't be allowed to enter play and would go to boot hill, no harrowed pull.

wouldn't it fall under the same thing as harrowed kenny and dixie rails being able to start him? by starting him in play it circumvents the normal coming into play rules.

I would rule that you could start her in play because she begins the game in play, and as such, there are on coming into play effects / restrictions. As long as she is able to be in your startin posse based on faction/drifter status, I would believe that she could be started.

Because she starts in play, "entering play" never happens. So it's all fine.

I agree with the idea that if she starts in play, she technically is not entering play.

Another related example would be Suzy. She has special requirements for entering play, just like Tabitha, however, Suzy's card specifically says that you can't start the game with her in play. Since Tabitha's does not have the same stipulation, you can start with her in play, and thereby bypass the entering play restriction.

Unfortunately, though, that makes her significantly more powerful than she was probably intended to be.

To completely skip the question, DUO sheet states that: "The Fear Level Is: 5."

Tabitha says that it must be "greater than five." So the fear level has to be at least six.

Also, Leonardo says that DUO states the Fear Level is 5. aposematic (who posted the question) says that DUO has set the Fear Level at 4. This is why I really would like to see the official rulebook for DUO. Instead, most everyone online plays by AtA, since that's the most recent version anyone can find on the interwebs.

I specifically remember DUO is Fear Level 5. I don't have any evidance to back that up though
