Just thought I'd say hello after signing up.

Doesn't look like people post here that often... but I'm gonna post anyway.

My name is Paul, and i'm sure some people here will know me, either if it's just to have seen me posting on a mailing list. I've been to only a few tournaments, most of them in London, including Gencon UK for 2/3 years.

Doomtown (I still call it Deadlands...) was my first card game really, and dispite getting into a few others like Magic and Raw Deal, Deadlands has always been my favorite.

When I first started me and my mates decided to pick an outfit each, so we wouldn't really overlap. After toying with Sweetrock for a while I kept getting annoyed at being killed easily in the big multiplayer shootouts we had, so I switched to Law Dogs.

I've been playing Law Dogs mostly as my first outfit, and while I enjoy my Coalition deck, and the multitude of other outfits i've played, I always come back to Law Dogs.

Hangin Judge is one of my favorite dudes, with Gabriel coming behind him. So on the Mailing Lists I used to sign my posts Hangin Judge Humphry.

One important thing about my decks are that I don't like going for "standard" things, and while I'd never netdeck I might take ideas. So while I sucked at Magic in tournaments, in Deadlands there's alot more give. This means that any decks I post, and any comments I make might be seen as "wrong", but it's probably just my odd perspective, like saying "Jackelope Stampede wouldn't make my top 10 cheating cards".

Welcome back, good to see a very familiar face.

It's nice to see that Doomtown is still loved. Very Happy

Yours is the only name i'm 100% sure I recognise so far on the forum.

Until recently I've played plenty of different card games, but given up cos its so expensive, and the card game I used to do well in National Tournaments was screwed by the makers. During that time I'd still occasionally have games against my mate Baz, so i've never really stopped playing.

I've only been to 5 (I think..) Doomtown tournaments outside my circle of friends, so there are alot of things I don't recognise which seem to be general knowledge, and my decks are probably pretty weird. But I started on Doomtown, and i'm sure if there were tournaments and a metagame to pick up from them that I'd do quiet well thanks to playing other games.

I still build decks, trying to get some friends to play with my cards, and I still occasionally check Ebay hoping to pick up some cheap collection to hopefully pick up bunches of cards i'm missing, or multiple copies of some cards I only have 1 copy of.

Baz has a Dixie Rails deck, which I tend to have trouble beating without specifically playing cards to deal with his deck, but it doesn't appear to be the same as any other Dixie Rails deck I've seen...

So, how do you feel about setting up an online game or two with another old-timer? I can put together some reasonably weird decks of my own if that’s your inclination….

Seriously, you should consider trying out LackeyCCG. It's a program that allows you to play Doomtown (and a bunch of other CCGs) online. It's the only place I've found to play and Findegil and I have played quite a few games on there already. It'd be really great to see more people trying it. IF enough get on there, maybe we can even shift the games ratio on there away from Magic a bit.

www.LAckeyCCG.com if you're interested.
